Turkmenistan became one of the leaders in inbound travel growth to Russia in the third quarter of 2025, demonstrating a sharp rise of 68.2%. At the peak of the tourist season — from July to September — 24.1 thousand visits were recorded, placing the country fourth among the main sources of trips to Russia. These figures were reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), according to TASS.
Overall, from July to September 2025, foreigners made 655.8 thousand visits to Russia. More than half of all inbound trips (372.8 thousand) were made by Chinese citizens, although their number decreased by 13.3%.
China remains the leader in the number of visits, followed by Germany (27.4 thousand). For the first time, Saudi Arabia ranked third, with 25,909 arrivals (+13%). ATOR noted that the record-high figures were made possible in part due to the launch of direct air routes.
The UAE took fifth place (21.5 thousand visits, a decrease of 10.1%). Growth was also recorded for Turkey, which rose from seventh to sixth place (+12.2%). India improved its position from ninth to eighth thanks to a 59% increase in travel flow. Oman became the leader in growth rates: the number of trips increased 2.2 times, allowing the country to enter the top 10 for the first time and take ninth place (8.9 thousand visits).
