Following high-level talks, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the launch ceremony of the Shavat-Dashoguz Joint Border Trade Zone.
The opening of this zone is a clear and practical result of the political will of the heads of state and their commitment to maximizing economic potential.

The zone boasts modern infrastructure that ensures the rapid and unimpeded movement of goods: administrative buildings for the directorate, customs, quarantine, phytosanitary, and veterinary services, as well as a retail pavilion and spacious warehouses.
Particular attention has been paid to convenience for businesses and citizens. The zone offers a one-stop shop for government services, interactive systems, as well as banking, medical, and hotel services.

The new zone will directly contribute to expanding trade and economic relations between the Dashoguz region of Turkmenistan and the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan. These regions possess significant economic potential, with a combined population of over 3.5 million. The launch of the Shavat-Dashoguz zone will provide a powerful incentive for increasing regional trade and improving the well-being of residents in the border areas.
