President of Turkmenistan: Work on Integrated Regional Development will Continue

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov spoke at the groundbreaking and opening ceremony for four major projects in the Balkan velayat, timed to Construction and Industrial Workers' Day. In his speech, the head of state outlined a programmatic vision for the region's development, emphasizing its role in the national industrialization and transit strategy.
The key message expressed by the President combined economic successes with social objectives: "Dynamic economic growth opens up broad opportunities for further improving the social and living conditions of the country's population, ensuring a peaceful, prosperous, and happy life for our people."
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that all ongoing initiatives are consistent with the spirit of Turkmenistan's national socioeconomic development strategy. The emphasis is on developing domestic industry through innovation and creating high-tech, export-oriented industries.
The head of state noted that the country's achievements in the construction, industrial, chemical, and energy sectors will be showcased at the international exhibition and conference in Avaza (CIET 2025, November 3-4).
Speaking about the groundbreaking of a new carbamide production complex (with a capacity of 1.155 million tons per year), the President emphasized not only its economic but also its technological significance:
"The construction of a modern carbamide production complex will make a significant contribution to the further development of our country's chemical industry. This will provide a powerful impetus to the rapid development of Turkmenistan's economy."
It was particularly noted that the consortium of Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan) and Gap Inşaat (Turkey) will utilize advanced European and Asian technologies, and that the complex itself will strictly comply with international environmental standards. Furthermore, the facility will create over a thousand new jobs.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, citing the wisdom of his ancestors, called the construction of roads and bridges a "noble principle." He positioned the newly commissioned facilities as part of the region's modern road and transport infrastructure:
"This road and transport infrastructure will become an important part of international transport routes. The new bridge and highway will significantly increase cargo turnover... and will facilitate the growth of cargo through the Turkmenbashi International Seaport."
The opening of the 354-meter Garabogaz Bay bridge and the start of construction of the Turkmenbashi-Garabogaz highway (207 km) were hailed as clear evidence of Turkmenistan's strengthening role as the heart of the Great Silk Road.
The President also focused on the social aspects of Balkan's comprehensive development. This includes the recent commissioning of a water treatment plant in Esenguly Etrap (with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day), equipped with European equipment.
The head of state also mentioned the construction of a combined-cycle power plant and social and cultural facilities in the village of Guvlymayak, as well as a new village and solar-wind power plant in Gyzylarbat Etrap.
In conclusion, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed that "work to develop the regions of our independent country will continue."
