Turkish Airlines, the airline flying to the largest number of countries worldwide, has resumed flights to the city of Sulaymaniyah, which were suspended in April 2023.
With the reinstatement of this route, the number of Turkish Airlines destinations in Iraq has returned to six. The national carrier also operates flights to Baghdad, Najaf, Erbil, Basra, and Kirkuk.
According to the airline, flights between Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sulaymaniyah International Airport (ISU) will operate four times a week — on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Departures from Istanbul are scheduled at 22:30, arriving in Sulaymaniyah at 01:10. The return flight departs at 02:40 and arrives in Istanbul at 05:40. All times are local.
Starting from March 27, 2026, flights will operate daily.
