Turkmenistan increases electricity exports: modernization in Dashoguz

The "Dashoguzenergo" production association, one of the largest enterprises in Turkmenistan's northern region, is actively engaged in ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted supply of electricity for domestic consumption.

The association manages over 3,400 transformer substations of various capacities and more than 330 power transmission lines, through which the velayat's population receives round-the-clock electricity.

The association's power plant, equipped with two gas turbines with a total capacity exceeding 254 megawatts, not only meets the region's needs but also enables electricity supply abroad. As part of significant regional transformations, there are plans in the near future to convert the power plant from a simple cycle to a combined-cycle gas turbine technology. This will allow for increased electricity generation without additional natural gas consumption, substantially reduce environmental impact, and enhance environmental safety.

With the commissioning of the double-circuit high-voltage power transmission line connecting Balkan and Dashoguz, the region has been integrated into the country's unified energy system. This development has created conditions for increasing electricity generation volumes, ensuring reliable power supply to the population, and expanding the industry's production potential.
