Kazakhstan to modernize "Temir Baba" border crossing with Turkmenistan this year
24.06.2025 | 10:45 |Kazakhstan will modernize five automobile border crossing points by the end of 2025, including "Temir Baba" on the border with Turkmenistan. This was announced by Bakytzhan Slyamov, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, at a press conference.
According to Zakon.kz, the "Temir Baba" point is among the priority facilities where modern control and data processing systems will be implemented. This initiative is expected to significantly increase the crossing's throughput capacity and accelerate border clearance procedures.
Overall, Kazakhstan currently operates 52 automobile border crossing points. Six of these have already undergone successful modernization, including "Nur Zholy," "Kalzhat," and "Alakol" on the border with China, as well as "Baurzhana Konyspayeva," "Kaplanbek," and "Atameken" on the Uzbek direction.
In addition to "Temir Baba," the "Kazyagurt" and "Tazhen" points (border with Uzbekistan), along with "Maykapchagay" and "Bakhty" (border with Kyrgyzstan), are also slated for upgrades in 2025.
