17.06.2025 | 09:00 |A solemn awards ceremony was held in the capital of Turkmenistan to honor the winners and participants of the National Stage of the XCEL International Olympiad. The event brought together students from general education schools and specialized learning centers from across the country. Winners were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as commemorative gifts from the Olympiad’s organizers and sponsors.
The ceremony was held in a warm and inspiring atmosphere. Speeches from teachers, parents, and the participants themselves were filled with pride in the achievements. It was emphasized that the success of the young contestants reflects their serious approach to learning, dedication to growth, and the high educational standards established in the country in recent years.
Medals and certificates for the national stage were provided by the international XCEL organizing committee and specially delivered to Turkmenistan. The national selection took place online in two rounds — in November 2024 and February 2025 — and involved a wide range of students interested in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and the arts.
Turkmenistan Among the Leaders at the International Stage
From June 1 to 7, the Turkmenistan team took part in the international stage of the Olympiad, held at one of the world’s leading educational institutions — the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Students from 10 countries participated in the event, including Malaysia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Indonesia, the United States, and Turkmenistan.
More than 250 participants competed in four main categories: Mathematics, Cognitive Sciences, Robotics, and Arts. The Turkmen team performed strongly, earning a full set of medals — gold, silver, and bronze.
Outstanding results were achieved by students from institutions such as the International School of Ashgabat, the Turkmen-Russian Joint School named after A.S. Pushkin, the Saparmurat Turkmenbashy Specialized Boarding School, and schools No. 18, No. 86, and No. 135. Participants in robotics were trained under the guidance of experienced mentors from the ImdatBot Center for Robotics and Programming and the Turkmen-Indian Center for Information Technology. Others prepared with mentors at their respective educational institutions.
High Level of Preparation — A Result of Joint Efforts
The success of Turkmen students is a testament to their strong preparation and the support provided by educational institutions and dedicated mentors.
The medals reflect the fruitful collaboration between teachers and students, as well as society’s growing interest in developing science, technology, and creative initiatives among the youth.
Projects in the field of robotics received special recognition, earning high praise from the international jury for originality, technical excellence, and potential for practical application.
The Future Belongs to the Young and Talented
The inspiring achievements of Turkmen students at the XCEL International Olympiad highlight the country’s high intellectual potential and its youth’s enthusiasm for active participation in global educational initiatives. These accomplishments not only motivate further personal development among the participants but also make a meaningful contribution to strengthening the scientific and technological future of Turkmenistan.
