 The President approved new steps in the development of youth policy in Turkmenistan

At a government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on new initiatives to develop youth policy in cooperation with the United Nations.

One of the key areas of the state strategy remains the active involvement of young people in social and political life, the creation of conditions for their high-quality education, comprehensive development, as well as the expansion of international cooperation in this area.

As part of the implementation of previously adopted government documents and initiatives, agreements with the UN, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country has prepared a number of proposals, including:

◦ Participation of the Turkmen delegation in the Youth Forum of the UN Economic and Social Council, which will be held on April 15-17 in New York.

◦ Holding the second meeting of the Central Asian Youth Dialogue, initiated by Turkmenistan, on April 16 within the framework of ECOSOC.

◦ Organization of a seminar for young diplomats and civil servants of Central Asia in the Turkmen capital in May jointly with the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, which will strengthen cooperation between young specialists of the region and improve their professional level.

◦ Development and implementation of a three-year program "Youth, Peace and Security" in partnership with UN structures, aimed at supporting young citizens of Turkmenistan and their participation in international and regional initiatives.

◦ Establishment of Educational and Information Centers at regional departments of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan jointly with UNDP. These centers will become platforms for conducting educational seminars using modern IT technologies.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the proposed initiatives and instructed to continue active work on the implementation of youth policy in close cooperation with the UN.
