 Turkmenistan proposed to the Caspian Sea countries to create joint logistics centers

At the III Caspian Economic Forum in Tehran, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, proposed that the Caspian countries consider creating joint logistics centers and platforms.

The Vice-Premier emphasized the importance of the North-South transport corridor projects along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, with access to Iran and further to the seaports of the Indian Ocean, and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

The head of the Turkmen delegation also drew the attention of the participants to the importance of Turkmenistan's initiatives to create a Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity and an Alliance for Global Energy Security and Sustainable Development, as well as to develop a Global Framework Program for the Transition to a Circular Economy.

The plenary session of the economic forum discussed such key issues as cooperation in the trade and economic sphere in the Caspian region, prospects for partnership in the field of transport infrastructure, energy, protection of the marine environment of the Caspian Sea and others.

Within the framework of the Forum, the delegation of Turkmenistan was received by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, as well as the First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Reza Aref.
