The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan discusses business development prospects with foreign partners
16.02.2025 | 22:40 |Last week, Turkmenistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) served as a venue for a series of important meetings with representatives of business and diplomatic circles from Italy, Belarus, Austria, and Guatemala. Participants discussed a wide range of issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation, implementing joint projects, and attracting investments.
Specifically, during a meeting with Leandro Scalco, designer of the Italian company "Modenese Gastone Interiors Srl", discussions revolved around international exhibitions to be held at the TCCI, as well as issues related to carpet weaving, textiles, and furniture design. Company representatives expressed their desire to participate in these exhibitions and declared their commitment to contribute to the strengthening of economic relations between the two countries.
At a meeting between the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan, Stanislav Chepurny, concrete proposals were put forward to increase mutual trade volumes, expand production capacities, and identify new areas of cooperation.
The Ambassador emphasized that Belarusian entrepreneurs are showing great interest in the Turkmen market. In particular, the Belarusian side expressed its readiness to expand partnerships in agriculture, the automotive industry, the food industry, and other manufacturing sectors.
Also last week, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with Gerhard Sailler, Deputy Director General for Political Affairs of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria. They discussed the state of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and projects that could be implemented jointly in the future. The Austrian representative noted his country's strong interest in expanding economic ties with Turkmenistan, emphasizing the importance of organizing joint exhibitions and business forums.
It was noted that the 13th meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian group is planned for this year, which will become an important platform for strengthening ties between the business circles of the two countries.
In addition, the Chairman of the TCCI met with the new Ambassador of Guatemala, Eduardo Enrique Hernandez Recinos, who noted that a new stage of diplomatic activity of the Republic of Guatemala in Turkmenistan has begun, and stressed that his country is following the development of the Turkmen economy with great interest. The Ambassador advocated for establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries through participation in exhibitions.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented Turkmenistan's export opportunities for oil and gas, textiles, and agricultural products. Issues of developing logistics routes between countries and stimulating trade relations were also discussed.
