Abu Dhabi, February 24, 2026 — The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the United Arab Emirates, Bayram Bayramov, presented his credentials to Francesco La Camera, Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), during a formal ceremony, thereby officially assuming his duties as Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the organization.
During the official audience held after the ceremony, the Permanent Representative conveyed greetings and best wishes to the head of the Agency on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
Expressing gratitude for the warm remarks, Francesco La Camera congratulated the Turkmen diplomat on his appointment to the responsible post and reaffirmed the Agency’s readiness to further deepen comprehensive cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The talks included a substantive exchange of views on the current state and perspective ways of the strategic partnership. Particular emphasis was placed on the practical implementation of joint initiatives in the production of “green” hydrogen, the introduction of advanced renewable energy technologies, and the expansion of scientific and technical cooperation.
It was noted that intensifying cooperation with IRENA aligns with Turkmenistan’s long-term priorities in sustainable development, environmental security, and diversification of the energy sector, while also facilitating the country’s integration into global energy transition processes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their strong commitment to continuing constructive and long-term dialogue aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and strengthening global environmental stability.
