Modernization of Higher Education in Turkmenistan: The Role of ERASMUS+ Projects
20.01.2025 | 14:05 |Since the beginning of 2025, “ERASMUS+ Information Sessions” have been held in higher education institutions of Turkmenistan, bringing together participants of various projects implemented within the framework of the European Union program. These sessions provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the events and conditions of the ERASMUS+ competition for 2025, as well as the results of ongoing and completed projects. Four projects of the European Higher Education Capacity Building Program are being successfully implemented in Turkmenistan, including:
HWCA – “Modernization of existing or development of new curricula on water resources management and water diplomacy.”
CircuIEC – “Development of innovative curricula and modules in the field of circular economy and sustainable development.”
GDCAU – “Green skills and sustainable development for Central Asian universities.”
ESGCA – “Environment, society and governance: ESG principles in universities and the labor market in Central Asia.” Participants in the information sessions presented reports on successful experiences in the framework of ERASMUS+ projects.
The ERASMUS+ Program, designed for 2021-2027, contributes to the improvement of the education system, professional training of specialists for various sectors of the economy. Particular attention is paid to social integration, active participation of young people in society, as well as the transition to green and digital technologies.
The Program is coordinated by the European Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency (EACEA). The National ERASMUS+ Office helps disseminate information about the opportunities of the Program for citizens of Turkmenistan.
