Oriented on making people closer

On January 9, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, with the participation of the Chairman of the Mejlis and members of the Cabinet of Ministers held a meeting of the Organizing State Committee for holding events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the declaration of 2025 by the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust.

During the meeting, instructions were given to prepare a project for a jubilee medal and a commemorative sign in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of the country's neutrality, financial support for upcoming events, ensuring an abundance of goods and decorating packages with the motto and symbol of the year.

The Head of the Khalk Maslakhaty instructed to create all the conditions for a comfortable rest for residents and guests of the capital during the festive events, ensuring the improvement and festive decoration of the city. He also emphasized the importance of creating a wide range of souvenirs. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to produce exclusive gift items and organize textile exhibitions at the highest level as part of the upcoming celebrations.

The importance of active participation of cultural institutions in the anniversary events, holding forums devoted to current cultural issues, wide coverage in the media of international events taking place in the country, organization of international scientific and practical conferences in universities dedicated to the anniversary of the country's neutrality and the motto of the current year was also emphasized.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people instructed Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov to carry out the necessary work to prepare a program of international events and a list of foreign delegations participating in the celebrations. Members of the Organizing Committee were instructed to coordinate with R. Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing State Committee, all issues related to holding the planned events.

In addition, instructions were given on organizing special flights for arriving guests and providing official delegations with transport and communication services.

The events organized in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality are designed to clearly demonstrate to the world the noble traditions and hospitality of our courageous people, the comprehensive prosperity and progress of the Fatherland, the head of the Khalk Maslakhaty emphasized. Firm confidence was expressed that the international events that will be held in our country jointly with the UN will serve to strengthen peace and trust throughout the world, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the participants of the meeting to closely interact with the relevant structural divisions of the UN. In this regard, in order to further develop the partnership with the UN, members of the Organizing State Committee will pay a visit in the coming days, the state news agency TDH reports.

Members of the Organizing State Committee were instructed to prepare a concept for holding high-level events of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the holiday of neutrality of Turkmenistan.
