 Online Conference on Climate Change in Central Asia completes its work

The Third Central Asian Conference on Climate Change (CACCC-2020) has completed its work. During the forum, the measures to combat climate change in Central Asia (CA) were considered in detail.

The event was attended by more than 320 specialists from eighteen countries, including around 220 participants from Central Asia. The presentations were made by 30 speakers, who spoke not only about regional, but also international environmental projects.

The last two days of the session, experts have devoted to discussion of climate finance as part of online review with the participation of representatives of government agencies of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

In conclusion, the organizers of the conference emphasized the great potential of the Central Asian countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the implementation of projects on renewable energy and energy efficiency in the housing and communal sector.

Currently, the projects to establish the ecological balance in the Aral Sea basin, and plans for the development of solar and wind energy based on public-private partnerships in all Central Asian countries are of special importance in the region.
