A creative evening dedicated to Magtymguly was held at the Tashkent Bolshoi Academic Theater
07.11.2024 | 13:50 |A creative evening dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Eastern thinker and classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi was held on November 6 at the Alisher Navoi Bolshoi Academic Theater in Tashkent.
The creative evening was attended by Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Shadurdy Meredov, Chairman of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Saidov, Head of the Republican Turkmen Cultural Center Guldane Avezdurdyeva, Director of the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Rizayev, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, the media, the Turkmen diaspora, writers, poets, prominent creative figures, as well as Turkmen students studying in universities of Uzbekistan.
Speakers at the creative evening, organized on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the broad celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi", noted that Magtymguly's work is of great importance not only for the Turkmen, but also for all the peoples of the world, and that events of this format serve as a vivid example of the expansion of cultural cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Then, musical performances and creative compositions based on the immortal poems of the great Eastern thinker Magtymguly Fragi were presented on the stage of the Alisher Navoi Bolshoi Academic Theater. Uzbek and Turkmen students performed the poet's works glorifying friendship and brotherhood. A scene from the production based on the works of Magtymguly was performed by artists of the Musical and Drama Theater of the Khorezm Region.
Also on this day, a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the classic of Turkmen literature, located on Magtymguly Street in Tashkent, took place.
Today, dozens of streets and avenues in the cities of Uzbekistan are named after Magtymguly. There is also a memorial complex dedicated to the memory of this great figure in Khiva.
Based on the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the wide celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly's birth, literary evenings, competitions, scientific conferences and seminars dedicated to this date are held almost every day in the country. Plays about the poet are staged in theaters of Uzbekistan. The Union of Writers of Uzbekistan published the book "Selected Works of Magtymguly Fragi" and a collection of scientific articles dedicated to his life and work.
A feature film, "Magtymguly Fragi", was created in collaboration between Uzbek and Turkmen filmmakers. The premiere of this film is planned to be held next week, on November 13-15, as part of the IV International Film Festival of the Turkic World, which will be held in Ashgabat. This was announced at a creative evening by Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
It was also noted that in October 2024, Turkmenistan hosted an international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly, on the theme "Interdependence of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development". Within its framework, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded a jubilee medal.
