04.11.2024 | 15:47 |China is ready to cooperate with other countries in sharing the results of the development of the BeiDou Satellite Navigation System (BDS).
This was stated by Xiang Libin, a representative of the National Development and Reform Commission, at the conclusion of the Third International Summit on BDS Applications held in Zhuzhou.
During the summit, agreements were also signed in the field of BeiDou applications.
BeiDou is widely used in public applications: with 98 per cent of smartphones and public bicycles equipped with the system.
Xiang added that the country will continue to support the widespread application of BeiDou, striving for deeper integration of BeiDou with smart vehicles, intelligent agriculture, and expanding its use in delivery services and low-altitude tourism.
BeiDou is a satellite navigation system developed and operated by China. It provides high-precision positioning, navigation, and synchronization services to users worldwide. The BeiDou system consists of satellites, earth stations, and user devices. It also offers messaging services and international search and rescue capabilities. BeiDou is the third satellite navigation system after GPS and GLONASS. It is already fully deployed and provides high-quality services with significant positioning and synchronization accuracy.
