Starting from April 6, 2026, a group of leading scholars from the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan has launched large-scale research work at the Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts.
This joint mission is being carried out within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding on scientific cooperation previously signed between the leading scientific institutions of Turkmenistan and Georgia. Over the course of a month, researchers will study and conduct a comprehensive analysis of rare Eastern manuscripts related to the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, preserved in Georgian collections.
Strengthening professional ties between oriental scholars of the two countries in the fields of restoration, digitization, and cataloguing of ancient manuscripts, as well as the joint study of literary monuments, contributes to a deeper understanding of the shared cultural paths of the peoples of the region.

It is worth noting that the cooperation between scientists is based on the solid foundation of the Memorandum, which has established a legal and practical framework for long-term academic exchange. The Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts possesses a unique archive, the study of which by Turkmen specialists will open new pages in the history of Eastern literature and science.

Turkmen-Georgian cooperation in scientific and humanitarian fields continues to develop actively, becoming an important factor in strengthening ties of friendship and mutual understanding between the two states.
