On April 6, 2026, a cultural and musical event took place in the concert hall of the Théâtre de l’Opprimé in Paris. The event was dedicated to the motto of 2026: “Independent, neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses,” as well as to the celebration of the national holiday Nowruz.

The event was organized by the cultural association “Destan” in partnership with the Théâtre de l’Opprimé, with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France. Representatives of culture and art, as well as residents and guests of Paris interested in exploring the rich cultural heritage of Turkmenistan, attended the event.

The program of the creative evening, consisting of two parts, aimed to introduce the rich musical traditions of the Turkmen people and to strengthen intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding. In the first part, works from the traditional repertoire of bagshy performers were presented.

Compositions based on epic and lyrical Turkmen works were masterfully performed on national musical instruments such as the dutar, gyjak, gargy tuiduk, dilli tuiduk, and gopuz.

The second part was dedicated to the presentation of traditional musical instruments and a creative dialogue with the musicians. Guests had the opportunity to learn about the path of becoming a musician in Turkmen culture and to ask questions.

Special attention was given to the continuity of musical traditions, as the members of the delegation are also teachers at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva. The event concluded with an exhibition featuring elements of the country’s cultural heritage, including carpets, decorative and applied arts, and national musical instruments.

The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, becoming a vivid example of cultural exchange and contributing to the further strengthening of humanitarian ties between nations. The musical performances of Turkmen cultural masters are continuing.
