"CIET 2024": International Conference and Exhibition on Construction, Industry, and Energy begins in Ashgabat
03.11.2024 | 12:10 |Today in Ashgabat, the International Conference and Exhibition "Construction, Industry, and Energy of Turkmenistan" (CIET 2024) has officially commenced, running from November 3 to 5 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. This event, dedicated to the Day of Construction and Industrial Workers of Turkmenistan, is organized by the State Concern "Turkmenhimiya," the State Agency for Road Construction Management, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production, and the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan.
The forum has attracted over 330 participants from 30 countries, including top business leaders, major international corporations, and government officials. The plenary session is addressing current issues such as international cooperation trends in the construction, industrial, and energy sectors, along with opportunities to enhance the investment appeal of these industries to support regional and continental economic integration.
Participants include Turkmen government officials and key partners of Turkmenistan, such as Chairman of "Çalık Holding" Ahmet Çalık, President of "Rönesans Holding" Erman Ilıcak, and Mitsubishi's regional representative Yasunori Sakamoto, among other leading global companies as «GAP Inşaat».
A significant focus of the forum is on the prospects for accelerated monetization and diversification of Turkmenistan's hydrocarbon resources, encompassing renewable energy sources and modernization of gas-chemical complexes.
Within this topic, discussions also cover fertilizer production and the construction of new energy facilities, with contributions from representatives of organizations like "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit" (GIZ), "S&P Global," "Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd.," "ASOS PROSES MAKINA SANAYI VE TICARET A.S," and other experts.
One of the conference's primary focuses is the development of the "smart" city Arkadag and the implementation of advanced building standards, including seismic resilience for structures in Ashgabat and Arkadag. City administration leaders and representatives from companies such as "Bouygues-Turkmen," "Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Inşaat," and "Interbudmontaz" are participating in discussions on this subject.
Additionally, CIET 2024 places strong emphasis on quality production of construction materials and financing of infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan.
Digitalization, which plays a critical role in advancing the economy and trade, as well as the training of specialists for the construction and energy sectors, are also highlighted. Participants are engaging in discussions on scientific advancements aimed at supporting sustainable development in these industries and expanding their human resource capacities.
