In Tajikistan, a creative meeting of writers was held at the Magtymguly school
01.11.2024 | 04:10 |On 31 October, a creative evening on the theme “Magtymguly Fragi and Turkmen-Tajik friendship” was held at the secondary school named after Magtymguly in Dusti district, Khatlon province, Tajikistan.
The event, initiated by the Embassy of Turkmenistan with the active support of the National Academy of Sciences and the Union of Writers of Tajikistan, was attended by Turkmen and Tajik poets and prose writers, as well as journalists.
Ambassador Aymyrat Gochmyradov, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, Chairman of the Parliamentary Ethics Commission of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Faizullo Barotzoda, First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan Ato Mirkhoja, member of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan, writer, translator and playwright Ato Hamdam and others delivered speeches at the event. The event was also attended by diplomats accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan.
Speakers noted that Magtymguly Fragi made a significant contribution to the development of culture and literature in Central Asia, and today his legacy serves as a bridge for enhancing spiritual connections and fostering closer ties between the peoples of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
As part of the creative evening, an exhibition dedicated to the life and works of the great poet was organized. Guests also had the opportunity to explore the museum of the school, which was opened by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, on 1 September this year.
