Another round of political consultations between Turkmenistan and Romania took place in Bucharest
20.07.2024 | 01:55 |Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov, during his visit to Bucharest to participate in the next round of bilateral political consultations, met on Thursday, July 18, with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Luminita Odobescu.
During the discussions, the state and prospects of the political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries, as well as events of common interest on the international agenda were considered. Minister Luminita Odobescu confirmed Romania's openness to developing cooperation at all levels with Turkmenistan, which she called an important partner in the Central Asian region.
During political consultations at the Romanian Foreign Ministry, State Secretary for Strategic Affairs Ana Tinca expressed interest in promoting sectoral cooperation between Romania and Turkmenistan through the implementation of specific joint projects.
It was noted that special attention should be paid to the areas of energy, transport, communications, education and contacts between people. In this context, the importance of developing the Black Sea - Caspian Sea transport corridor was emphasized, an initiative developed by the two states in cooperation with Azerbaijan and Georgia, according to a press release from the Romanian Foreign Ministry.
Ana Tinca also expressed Romania's strong support for strengthening cooperation between the European Union and Turkmenistan in all areas.
