British Prime Minister Sunak calls early elections for July 4

Early general elections to the UK Parliament will be held on July 4. This was announced by Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak, speaking in front of his official residence on Downing Street.

“Now is the time for Britain to choose our future - to decide whether we want to build on the progress we have made or risk finding ourselves back at the beginning again, with no plan, no clarity. Earlier today, in a conversation with His Majesty the King, I asked for the dissolution of Parliament. "The King has granted this request and we will have a general election on July 4," Sunak said.

Addressing voters, Rishi Sunak called for voting for the party “with a clear plan and bold action” and added that he himself had always adhered to this position in his work.

“I have always been honest with you, even when it was difficult, because I am guided by what is right for our country, not by what is easy,” he explained.
