Kazakhstan intends to double trade turnover with Central Asian countries

Last year, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with Central Asian countries amounted to $7.7 billion.

In the near future, the republic plans to double this amount. This was announced by Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebaev during the 13th Central Asian Forum in Almaty, the international news agency Kazinform reports.

Thus, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan sets a goal in the next 5-10 years to increase trade turnover with Uzbekistan to $10 billion, with Kyrgyzstan to $2 billion, and with Tajikistan to $2 billion.

According to Kairat Torebaev, the countries of Central Asia are landlocked, so intraregional trade plays a big role.

In general, using the full potential of the countries of the region, it is planned to form an international center for trade and economic cooperation.
