Over 21 million kW⋅hours of electricity were supplied from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan per day
19.02.2024 | 23:44 |Over the past day, February 18, 21.6 million kWh of electricity was imported from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, representatives of the Ministry of Energy reported this at a briefing on Monday at the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Yangi Uzbekistan reports.
In total, 225.6 million kWh of electricity was supplied to consumers across the republic. 151.6 million cubic meters of natural gas were consumed. However, the volume of electricity produced in Uzbekistan and imported from Turkmenistan is not enough to meet demand, which is why restrictions on the supply of electricity to 400 MW were introduced on Sunday during peak hours, the Ministry of Energy said. According to the department, this is due to an accident due to strong winds on a power line in the Bukhara region.
