The cultural caravan will pass through the countries of Central Asia: start in China, finish in Pakistan
25.01.2024 | 20:21 |On Tuesday, Pakistan's Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah discussed with foreign diplomats in Islamabad the plan for the second China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Cultural Caravan to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Pakistan, China, Russia and Central Asian states.
The meeting, held at the National Arts Council of Pakistan, was attended by Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atajan Movlamov, Ambassador of Russia Albert Khorev, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Bao Zhong, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Ulanbek Totuyaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Usmanov and Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farkhadov. The event was also attended by leaders of the cultural sector of Pakistan.
Jamal Shah said that the CPEC cultural caravan will begin its journey from Xi'an (China) and will pass through Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, UAE, Gwadar, Karachi and ultimately end in Islamabad, The Express Tribune reported.
“The cultural caravan will document the diverse life along the CPEC ancient Silk Road,” he added. This cultural excursion will document the experiences and stories of people living along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Silk Road spanning Central Asia.
The caravan will consist of various groups of Pakistani, Chinese and Central Asian artists, musicians, photographers, anthropologists, writers and filmmakers.
