Turkmenistan has developed a procedure for assigning the legal status of "National" to state circuses and individual professional creative circus groups. The resolution approving this provision was signed on Friday by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The document submitted to the head of state for consideration during a government meeting by Deputy Prime Minister Mahrijemal Mammedova is aimed at stimulating the development of circus art in the country.
The legal status of circuses is related to article 12 (Chapter III) of the Law of Turkmenistan "On Circus and Circus Art", which entered into force in November 2022, which states that state circuses, individual professional creative circus groups whose activities have special state and public significance, can be assigned the status of "National".
In 2022, the regulations on awarding the status of "National" and "Academic" to theater groups and the status of "National" to the country's state museums were also approved.
