The European Commission is preparing for an Investor Forum to be held on January 29-30, 2024 in Brussels, Belgium, bringing together representatives of the public and private sector, investors interested in improving sustainable transport links between the two regions of the continent – European and Central Asian.

The Forum will be a follow-up to an earlier EC study on sustainable transport links between Europe and Central Asia, which was implemented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and published on June 30, 2023.

This was discussed during the 19th meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian countries and the European Union, which was attended by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov from Turkmenistan.

The participants of the event welcomed the proposal to hold a meeting of experts in the field of transport from government agencies and private transport and logistics companies in Ashgabat in the coming months.

The EU also welcomed the signing of the Agreement on the Interconnection of Land Transport in Central Asia during the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia on September 14, 2023 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
