 Turkmen weightlifter won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Riyadh

Turkmen weightlifter Gaygysyz Torayev, competing in the weight category up to 81 kg, won a bronze medal at the World Weightlifting Championships in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

A weightlifter from Turkmenistan managed to lift 193 kg in the clean and jerk, thereby becoming the owner of a bronze award of the World Championship.

According to the sum of the two-man event, Toryaev showed a result of 343 kg (150 +193). Oscar Reyes from Italy became the champion in this weight - 356 kg (163 + 193). In second place is the representative of Indonesia Erwin Rahmat - 354 kg (145 + 209). The top three leaders were closed by the Uzbek - M. Toshemirov - 352 kg (164 + 188).

The World Championship in Riyadh, which takes place from September 4 to 14, is one of the stages of Olympic qualification. More than six hundred weightlifters from more than a hundred countries gathered at this competition to compete for places in the ranking that determines the participants of the Olympic Games in Paris-2024.
