Following the results of the Summit of the heads of the IFAS founding states, four documents were signed
15.09.2023 | 14:23 |Four documents were signed following the Summit of the Heads of the founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in Dushanbe, reported press service of the President of Kazakhstan.
In particular, the Dushanbe Statement of the IFAS Founding Heads of State was signed, as well as three decisions of the IFAS founding heads of State:
— on the results of the chairmanship of the Republic of Tajikistan in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea,
— on activities to improve the organizational structure and legal framework of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea,
— about the election of the president of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
The International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea was established in 1993 to overcome an environmental disaster in the area of the dried-up Aral Sea. IFAS finances and implements various projects and programs aimed at protecting and restoring the environment, rational use of water resources, adaptation to climate change, improving the socio-economic situation of the population and the development of tourism in the Aral Sea region.
