Organizations of Turkmenistan will be obliged to provide information on environmental impact
27.03.2020 | 12:55 |All state bodies, legal entities and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan will be required to provide information on their environmental impact. The relevant law was published by the Turkmen press on March 25, and from that day it entered into force, with the exception of article 7, on the State Fund for Environmental Information, which will come into force on January 1, 2021.
The new law will strengthen the control of compliance with the rules, protecting the environment and human health. In the future, this will affect the improvement of the quality of products manufactured in the country and the increase in the level of ecological culture of the population.

The Law “On Environmental Information” requires organizations to disclose data on the state of soils, waters, flora and fauna, and to provide information regarding pollutants, hazardous chemicals and waste. To do this, they will have to carry out environmental monitoring, which is in their "jurisdiction", to make an environmental assessment of their economic activity.
Organizations whose activities can affect the well-being of the environment should disclose environmental information at the request of the media and individuals, publish environmental reports on their official websites on the Internet, and voluntarily submit it to the State Environmental Information Fund.
The fund will operate under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, providing relevant environmental information to government agencies, local governments, legal entities and individuals.
