Interview at the edge of a wheat field: how modern farmers live

Just recently, Geoktepe district of Akhal province celebrated the festivities as the district received an award in the competition for being the country’s best district having achieved the best socio-economic indicators. A wide celebration was organized on this occasion, while day-to-day activities and cares of the villagers have never stopped.

They keep working in the fields, preparing land to sow cotton and growing wheat. The best new agro machines and state subsidies are of great help to modern farmers.

Now in the fields under winter grain crops, the soil is being cultivated to protect shoots and accumulate the future crops. In addition, around the land plots, farmers plant young trees of fast-growing Bolle’s poplar.

This type of tree contributes to the desalination of the soil and serves as a real oxygen plant. See the video to learn more about seasonal field works from Ahmed Gurtniyazov, the tenant of the Uzumchilik farmer association.
