The Iranian national football team defeated the team of Uzbekistan in the final match of the Cup of Nations of the Central Asian Football Association - CAFA Nations Cup-2023.

The meeting, held at the Bunyodkor stadium in Tashkent in the presence of 34,000 spectators, ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the Iranian team. The author of the only goal was an Iranian of Turkmen origin Serdar Azmun.

In the 48th minute, the player of the German "Bayer" from the transfer of Mehdi Taremi accurately struck from the 11-meter mark. The attempts made by the players of the Uzbek team to equalize the score were unsuccessful - 1:0.

In the match for bronze medals, where the national teams of Oman and Kyrgyzstan met, the players from the country of the Middle East turned out to be stronger.

The only goal was scored in the 71st minute by Arshad Al Alawi.

Recall that the CAFA Nations Cup-2023 tournament was held from June 10 to 20 in Tashkent and Bishkek with the participation of seven teams: Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
