Afghanistan appoints trade attaché in Turkmenistan

The Ministry of Trade and Industry of Afghanistan has appointed a trade attaché at the Afghan Embassy in Ashgabat.

Mohammad Harun Sayedi was officially introduced as the commercial attaché of the Afghan embassy in Ashgabat during a special ceremony attended by Acting Afghan Ambassador to Turkmenistan Fazal Mohammad Sabir and a number of investors, the Khaama Press news agency reported, citing the Afghan Ministry of Commerce on Twitter.

Sabir emphasized the mission of the attache in stimulating trade and investment, as well as in developing economic relations and cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan in the coming years.

Noting Turkmenistan's efforts in rebuilding Afghanistan, Khaama Press added that the country has sent vital aid to the people of Afghanistan and has repeatedly called on the de facto authorities to build an inclusive government and respect the rights of women, girls, religious minorities and ethnic groups.

The Afghan Ministry of Industry and Trade said that commercial attachés have also been appointed in Pakistan and Iran, and a similar appointment is expected to be made in Istanbul soon.
