 Turkmenistan took part in the 216th session of the UNESCO Executive Board

The 216th session of the UNESCO Executive Board was held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from May 10 to 24, 2023, in which Turkmenistan also participated, according to a press release from the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

In the French capital, with the support and co-authorship of Turkmenistan, the UNESCO Executive Board approved a number of decisions and included them in the agenda:

70th Anniversary of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network: Perspectives;

“Bicycle for All” Initiative for Sustainable and Healthy Living;

Implementing the Tashkent Declaration and Commitments to Take Action to Transform Early Childhood Care and Education.

The Executive Board of UNESCO is the organization's main decision- making body, responsible for making strategic decisions and overseeing its activities. In this session, the participants reviewed and discussed issues related to UNESCO's mandate and priorities. For two weeks, the delegates discussed and took decisions on various issues that are important for the work of UNESCO and its goals in the field of culture, education and science.
