Partnership with USAID was discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
11.05.2023 | 22:42 |The prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and USAID to promote regional and national projects were discussed on Thursday by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Khadzhiev and Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Asian Bureau of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Anjali Kaur. He arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The parties noted that in the asset of long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Agency there are a number of joint projects in the area of trade and economic development, education, healthcare, public administration, the legislative and legal sphere, the social sector, the agro-industrial complex and others.
The diplomats also considered a package of issues of bilateral cooperation and discussed partnership steps within the joint working group established by Turkmenistan and USAID to assess and reduce methane emissions. There was a consensus on the prospects for cooperation in such modern areas as the development of low-carbon energy and digitalization.
During the meeting, they also discussed the advisory and technical support from USAID for Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO.
