China has completed pre-launch training for the launch of the Tianzhou-6 spacecraft
10.05.2023 | 13:56 |The final comprehensive training sessions were held in China on the eve of the launch of the combination of the Tianzhou-6 cargo spacecraft and the Changzheng-7 Y7 launch vehicle. The events confirmed that all systems are in good condition and ready for the mission. This was reported in the Office of the Manned Space Program of China (SMSA).
Under the unified dispatching coordination of the Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center, the Wenchang Cosmodrome, the Xi'an Satellite Control Center, as well as all control and measuring stations and vessels involved in the mission, took part in pre-launch training, simulating all operations at the stages of pre-launch preparation, launch and flight of the spacecraft in order to check the technical condition of various systems, and also the ability of intersystem docking and coordination.
The Tianzhou-6 spacecraft will deliver clothing, drinking water and food for the crew members of the Shenzhou-15 mission, who are currently orbiting the Earth aboard the Tiangong Space Station, as well as for the upcoming Shenzhou-16 mission.
The Tianzhou-6 will also carry 1.7 tons of fuel, of which 700 kg will be transferred to the Tiangong so that the Chinese space station can launch engines and maintain its orbit.
