Why is it worth eating dates in Ramadan?

Muslims continue the holy month of Ramadan. For those who keep a fast, it is especially important to buy dates during this period, including them in the daily menu.

Dates, considered the food of centenarians, can bring significant benefits to the body, especially if consumed on an empty stomach. But what makes them so useful?

Dates are not only a very tasty fruit, but also a source of vitamins and nutrients. These fruits are rich in copper, iron, magnesium, zinc, manganese, potassium, calcium and vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B6. They contain 23 types of amino acids, which are not present in most fruits.

According to nutritionists, the antioxidants contained in dates help reduce the risk of developing many chronic diseases — diseases of the cardiovascular system, cancer, diabetes, etc. Palm fruits are rich in acids that reduce inflammation and are good for the heart.

Dates also strengthen bone health, help control blood sugar levels, and finally, increase resistance to various infections.

They reduce the feeling of hunger, which allows you to refrain from excessive intake of food, so as not to cause disruption of the digestive process. One study showed that those who ate seven dates a day had significantly improved digestive processes.

Dates are very rich in fructose, a natural sugar that nourishes a person with energy. These fruits are also easily digested and do not force the fasting gastric system to work in full force.

Dates prepare the stomach for the main meal after it has been "inactive" during the day and activate the secretion of digestive juice. That is why dates with water are used when talking.

The alkaline salts in dates regulate the acidity of the blood caused by eating large amounts of meat and carbohydrates. It is noteworthy that in ancient times the Arabs considered dates as the main food.

As for the exact number of dates with which to complete the daily fast, it is recommended to use three fruits.
