Iran and Turkmenistan discuss expansion of electricity trade

A delegation of the Iranian Ministry of Energy headed by the Deputy Minister of Energy for Water Supply and Sanitation visited Ashgabat to discuss Iranian-Turkmen cooperation in the field of water and electricity and ways of its development.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Iran Mohammad Javanbakht met and held talks with Deputy Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan Serdar Saparov, discussing the possibilities of intensifying bilateral cooperation between the departments, Mehrnews reports.

The parties expressed mutual interest in further expanding relations in the field of electric power and agreed to expand the exchange of engineering and technical services, on the basis of which it was decided that a delegation of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan would soon visit Iran to get acquainted with promising projects on the spot.
