A briefing was held in the Doping Control Center of the Ashgabat Olympic town on the issues of anti-doping support for the Games "Ashgabat 2017".

Several partners of national structures are involved in this major organizational part of the Games, including the British company Trivandi Chanzo, WADA, the National Anti-Doping Agency of Great Britain (UKAD), and others.

"We have been working on an anti-doping program in Turkmenistan since January this year," Bernadette O. Gallahan, representative of Trivandi Chanzo, said during a briefing. - In close cooperation with the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan and representatives of WADA, colossal work was carried out within 9 months.

The results included the creation of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan (NADAT), the development and adoption of the Anti-Doping Law in Sport.

The Act defines the legal status of NADAT, which is a public association recognized by the World Anti-Doping Agency and is guided in its activities by the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport, the World Anti-Doping Code and other decisions of the World Anti-Doping Agency.

NADAT is an independent agency, has financial autonomy, its own budget and acts independently during the performance of its statutory functions and duties and the exercise of its statutory powers.

Today, NADAT takes one of the leading positions in the Central Asian region, providing the most transparent and accurate system for checking athletes for doping.

In addition, national anti-doping rules and a national anti-doping program, approved by WADA, were developed.

The Doping Control Center, located in the capital's Olympic town, provides an impartial check of the participants of the 5th Asian Games. It is a specially protected facility, the territory of which can only include accredited doping control officers. Moreover, the pass to all objects that are in the immediate vicinity of the Center is limited, excluding any possibility of penetration into its territory.

The Doping Control Center has installed the latest equipment approved by international anti-doping organizations and is capable of detecting the presence of doping with maximum accuracy. At the disposal of specialists - the biochemical analyzer "Cobas E411", produced by the German company "Roche Diagnostics GmbH"; hematological immune-chemical analyzer "Sysmex" of the German company "Sysmex Europ GmbH"; gas chromatography apparatus "TSQ800EVO", manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific (USA), as well as liquid preparative chromatography equipment "UltiMate 300" manufactured by the same company.
