President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov suggested beginning discussion simplifications of customs and migratory procedures and other prominent aspects of cooperation in the transport sphere on the United Nations platform together with the global strategy of transport interaction of issues of harmonisation of rules.
«Forms of such rapprochement, their geographical configuration, speed and modalities can be different. The main thing - that they promoted effective partnership, global plans of sustainable development, and would be free from politicisation», - Berdimuhamedov underlined.
He reminded that the UN GA at the initiative of Turkmenistan accepted on July 29, 2021 the resolution on strengthening of relations between all modes of transport for maintenance of stable and reliable international transportation with a view of sustainable development during and after the coronavirus pandemic.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also called the world community for development of a special inter-regional program of the United Nations on transport development, the proposal of which was earlier put forward by Turkmenistan.
In the conditions of the pandemic especially developing countries which do not have a direct access to the World ocean, happened to be vulnerable, they were most strongly affected by restrictions in transportation and it is more difficult for them than others to get out to the post-crisis level, the Turkmen leader at the second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference which opened in Beijing, said.
«In the name of the United Nations, for international institutes it is necessary to assist the world community and support this category of the states, including in overcoming of recession and systematic reintegration into world transport processes», - the president of Turkmenistan stated, speaking at the forum by visual communication.
Berdimuhamedov invited the countries and partner organisations to take part in the International conference of ministers of developing countries which do not have an access to the sea which Turkmenistan will organise itself together with the United Nations in April, 2022.
The President of Turkmenistan took online part in the second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference under the invitation of chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.
The conference, which passes from October 14 to October 16 in Beijing, collected key interested parties from governments, systems of the United Nations and other international organisations, the private sector and civil society for discussion of complex and through character of sustainable transport, its multiple role in support of achievement of the Agenda for the period until 2030.
The first United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference under the aegis of the United Nations was held in Ashkhabad in November 2016, and new approaches to expansion of transport cooperation then were laid.
The transport sphere becomes today one of the dynamically developing segments of the Turkmen business actively interned in the international system of logistics and cargo transportation.
