Foreign Investment in China: Up 14.7% in 10 Months

In the first 10 months of 2025, 53,782 new foreign-funded enterprises were established in mainland China. According to the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, this is an increase of 14.7% compared to the same period last year.
The volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) in mainland China reached 621.93 billion yuan (about 87.51 billion US dollars).
The distribution of FDI was as follows: 161.91 billion yuan in the manufacturing sector; 445.82 billion yuan in the services sector; and 192.52 billion yuan in high-tech industries.
The highest growth in FDI was recorded in the e-commerce sector (+173.1%), the production of medical instruments and equipment (+41.1%), and the manufacture of aerospace equipment (+40.6%).
The top three countries whose investments in China grew most significantly are:
the United Arab Emirates (+48.7%), the United Kingdom (+17.1%), and Switzerland (+13.2%).
