Direct Urumqi–Osh Flight: Travel Time Reduced to 2.5 Hours

A new direct flight between Urumqi (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China) and Osh (the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan) was launched on Saturday.
Flight CZ8007 departed from Urumqi TianShan International Airport. The route will operate every Saturday, with a travel time of about 2.5 hours. It is the only direct flight from China to Osh and the second international route from Urumqi TianShan Airport to Kyrgyzstan (after Bishkek).
According to a passenger from Osh, he often travels to China for work, and previously had to fly with layovers in Bishkek or Moscow, or travel by bus with multiple transfers in different cities. Such trips took more than 10 hours.
According to Yu Xin, an officer at the Urumqi immigration checkpoint, from January to November Urumqi TianShan International Airport handled more than 60 thousand passenger flights between China and Kyrgyzstan, which is 55.4% more than last year.
