Record Railway Freight Volume in China Over 10 Months

Railway freight transport in China reached a record high in the first 10 months of 2025, according to the operator China State Railway Group. From January to October, 3.378 billion tons of cargo were transported, which is 3% more than last year.
Cross-border transportation showed a 64% increase: 1.2 million TEU were shipped via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
Rail freight of metallurgical products grew particularly strongly (+9.1%), as well as grain shipments (+13.8%). Steady growth in freight transport helped reduce logistics costs and strengthen economic stability.
