The People's Bank of China will work with other financial regulators to introduce a series of new measures aimed at strengthening financial market stability and expanding its openness, central bank governor Pan Gongsheng said Monday.

One initiative will establish a liquidity support facility to address large-scale redemptions by non-bank financial institutions. Authorities also plan to expand the range of institutions eligible for the Standing Lending Facility.

Regulators will promote greater connectivity between the interbank and exchange bond markets, helping improve the movement of capital across different parts of the financial system.

China will also introduce pilot measures to facilitate renminbi purchase and sale operations by foreign financial institutions in the onshore foreign exchange market.

Another set of policies will provide financial support for international science and technology innovation centers in Beijing and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Pan announced the measures at the opening of the Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum 2026, being held in Beijing from October 19 to 22.

This year's forum is themed "Building an Open Collaborative and Inclusive Ecosystem for Global Financial Development" and is expected to attract more than 400 participants from over 40 countries and regions.

According to CCTV+, the measures are aimed at strengthening the resilience of China's financial system, widening access for foreign market participants and supporting the country's science and technology development.
