World's highest bridge becomes major tourism landmark in China

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in southwest China's Guizhou Province has become a major tourism landmark one year after opening, attracting large numbers of visitors during the week-long National Day holiday.
The bridge has been certified by Guinness World Records as the world's highest, with a confirmed height of 626.01 meters.
The steel-truss suspension bridge is located in mountainous terrain and forms a key part of the Liuzhi-Anlong Expressway. It opened to traffic on September 28, 2025.
A range of tourism attractions has since opened around the bridge, including a sightseeing corridor, glass viewing platform, high-altitude bungee jumping and a cloud-top cafe more than 600 meters above the ground.
The nearby Yundu Service Area has also added new food stalls, cultural and creative product booths, themed drinks and an upgraded nighttime water-curtain light show. Laser and drone shows are also part of the visitor experience.
Tourism development has also reached nearby Huajiang Village. More than 20 distinctive homestays have been built there since the beginning of the year, while visitors can take boat trips along the river and explore the canyon scenery.
According to CCTV+, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is developing from a major transport project into an important tourism destination that is also creating new opportunities for nearby communities.
