Flag-raising ceremonies held across China to mark 77th anniversary of PRC founding

Flag-raising ceremonies were held across China on October 1 to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
At the Khunjerab Pass in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, located about 5,100 meters above sea level, thousands of people gathered to watch the national flag being raised. After the ceremony, participants took a group photo with the border police flag guard and expressed their wishes for the country's prosperity.
Tourist Wang Yanli said attending the ceremony at one of the world's highest border crossings gave her a strong sense of pride.
A flag-raising ceremony was also held at the Mohan Railway Port on the China-Laos Railway. The port serves as an important gateway for year-round passenger and freight traffic between China and Southeast Asia.
In south China's Hainan Province, synchronized ceremonies were held at Xinhai Harbour in Haikou and Sanya Phoenix International Airport. Port staff, transport authorities, Young Pioneers and representatives from different sectors took part.
Similar ceremonies were also held across the islands and reefs of Sansha, China's southernmost island city in Hainan Province.
According to CCTV+, the ceremonies were held at border crossings, transport hubs and island locations across the country as part of nationwide celebrations marking the anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
