All sections of major bridge in Sichuan successfully joined
Construction of a major transport project in southwest China’s Sichuan Province has entered a new phase. The successful joining of all sections of the Jialing River Grand Bridge marks a key step toward completion of an expressway expected to significantly shorten travel between two areas of Nanchong.
All sections of the 1,379-meter-long Jialing River Grand Bridge, a key structure of the Langzhong-Yingshan Expressway in Sichuan, had been successfully joined as of Saturday.
With this stage completed, construction has moved into the next phase, including the laying of the road surface.
The 103-kilometer Langzhong-Yingshan Expressway connects Langzhong city with Yingshan County in Nanchong City.
The expressway is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of this year. Once operational, it will provide expressway access to all counties in Nanchong.
The new route is expected to cut travel time between Langzhong and Yingshan from about 2.5 hours to approximately 40 minutes.
As reported by CCTV+, the successful joining of all sections of the Jialing River Grand Bridge marks another major milestone in the construction of the Langzhong-Yingshan Expressway in Sichuan.
