China ready to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace — FM
The internet connects millions of people, but along with opportunities it brings risks. A secure, open and cooperative cyberspace is not just a technical task but a condition for peaceful coexistence in the digital age.
The opening ceremony of China Cybersecurity Week was held on Monday in Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong Province, launching a week of events on the topic to be held across the country from September 14 to 20. "The network extends tens of thousands of kilometres and connects tens of thousands of households. A peaceful, secure, open and cooperative cyberspace is of great significance to every country in the world. Since 2014, China has held events during Cybersecurity Week every year, aiming to raise everyone's awareness and skills in cybersecurity, promote a healthy and civilised online environment, and provide useful Chinese experience for global internet governance," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun.
"Today, new technologies, especially artificial intelligence, are changing the landscape of cyberspace. As a staunch defender of cybersecurity, China has officially incorporated AI into its national cybersecurity legal framework and continues to improve relevant institutions, guidelines and ethical standards. China is ready to cooperate with the international community to combat cybersecurity risks in the AI era, advance the building of a community with a shared future in cyberspace and make the internet better serve the peoples of all countries," he said.
