In Kazakhstan, the new Barkhannoye field is planned to be put into operation by the end of 2025. This was reported by Sputnik Kazakhstan with reference to the press service of the national gas company QazaqGaz. The Barkhannoye gas field is located in the Moiynkum district of the Zhambyl region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The territory of the field is located on the southwestern edge of the Moiynkum desert, which occupies the interfluve of the Shu and Talas rivers. This is a flat area, gradually rising towards the Tien Shan mountain system. Active work on geological exploration of the field is carried out by the company Exploration and Production QazaqGaz.
According to the company's report, given the location of the field on the territory of the forest fund, modern technologies will be used during its development to minimize the impact on the environment. Particular attention is paid to controlling emissions into the atmosphere and preventing gas leaks.
The publication also cites other examples of the sharp intensification of QazaqGaz's work on geological exploration and additional exploration of fields. In particular, work has begun at the Amangeldy field to prepare for drilling well No. 142. At the Airakty field, work has begun on drilling well No. 108. Drilling of well No. 18 at Anabay is nearing completion. This year, it is planned to drill a total of 11 wells. Seismic surveys and drilling work are also planned at the Maldybay, Sayakhbay and Kogaly sites.
