Activation of scientific and educational ties was the subject of a conversation between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Shadurdy Meredov and rector of the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” Bakhodir Mirzaev.
At the meeting, which took place at the Turkmen embassy, there was presented detailed information on the reforms and projects being implemented today in the field of education and scientific research at the university. The parties exchanged views on the directions and prospects of cooperation between agricultural universities of the two countries, conducting joint scientific research, organizing international scientific conferences and taking student exchange to a new level.

There was also reached an agreement on issuing Turkmen visas to professors and students of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in a simplified manner when organizing visits, according to the university’s website.
Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers is a unique higher education institution in Central Asia. The institute is engaged in the development of water resources. Currently, there are five faculties with 30 departments and about five thousand students study here. Among the famous graduates of TIIAME is the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
